The Heartful Women’s Giving Circle has announced it has raised just over $15,000 to fund three Ozil Handpieces for cataract surgeries at Trenton Memorial Hospital (TMH).
In a release, the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundaion says an average of 75 cataract surgeries are performed weekly and that the handpieces will play a crucial role in restoring vision for local patients.
The group’s 39 members contribute one dollar a day ($365 annually), pooling resources to fund vital hospital equipment.
It meets three times a year to review hospital priorities, vote on funding projects, and celebrate their collective impact.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the success of this year’s Heartful Women of TMH giving circle,” said Aleesha Camp – one of Heartful Women of TMH founders and TMHF board chair in the release.
“With the support of such a dedicated group of women, we were able to raise over $15,000 for essential cataract surgery equipment at TMH. It’s truly inspiring to see the difference we can make when we come together for a common cause.”
The next meeting of the Heartful Women’s Giving Circle meeting will take place on June 4, 2025.
