The Wellington Dukes defeated the Aurora Tigers 7-3 on Saturday night.
Ben Vreugdenhil, Ethan Murray, Ryan Schaap, Sacha Trudel, Zander Latreille, and Zennon Edwards scored for the Dukes.
The Dukes came out of the gate swinging, with a goal in the first 3o seconds, followed by three more before the Tigers grabbed their first with less than 30 seconds left in the period. In the second the Dukes took two more unanswered goals, building their lead. In the third the Dukes grabbed one last goal, before the Tigers took two. Despite the late goals, they couldn’t catch up, and the Dukes took the win.
The Wellington Dukes sit fourth in the OJHL Eastern Conference and will advance to the playoffs.
