Tyendinaga Township Council will continue its budget deliberations next month.
Council was presented with a first draft of the budget at a special meeting last week.
During the meeting, very few changes were made to the proposed budget which included a proposed tax rate increase of 6.88%
The increase was based on current estimates for insurance and the Hastings County levy.
Council did feel the next budget presentation should include additional reserves to adjust the tax rate to 7.5%.
The township says further deliberations are expected and adjustments will be made as necessary to meet the target tax rate and address any additional considerations.
The next special council meeting for budget deliberations will be March 19.
