Two people were arrested and charged after they were stopped travelling in stolen vehicles on Highway 401 on the weekend.
Lennox and Addington OPP observed two suspicious vehicles headed east near Highway 41 on Friday.
After confirming the vehicles were stolen, officers safely stopped a Range Rover at the Odessa Onroute, and a Toyota Highlander was then stopped at the Montreal Street exit in Kingston.
A search of the vehicles confirmed that individuals were using two-way radios to communicate with each other.
Robin Virk, age 20, of Niagara Falls and Ron Harding, age 48, of Ajax have been jointly charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime – over $5000
Theft of motor vehicle
Possessing automobile master key
Possession of break-in instruments
Virk was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on March 25.
Harding was remanded in custody with another court appearance scheduled for Monday.
