Leeds OPP have laid charges after a driver fled a collision on Highway 401 near Long Beach on Thursday, Feb 20, around 2:30 a.m.
Police received reports of a single-car crash. The car was found unattended and obstructing traffic.
A suspect was later located nearby and arrested. They were found to be in possession of approx. 90 grams of suspected fentanyl as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.
Charges laid are Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking · Obstruct a peace officer · Careless driving · Dangerous operation · Fail to report accident · Fail to remain at the scene of an accident · Mischief – render property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective · Failure to comply with undertaking – four counts.
The accused was remanded into custody.
