The City of Belleville advises motorists that the Half-Load By-law will be in effect beginning on Monday, March 10 until further notice. The restrictions help to preserve and protect roads from freeze-thaw cycles during late winter and into spring.
Heavy trucks are to be restricted in weight on all city roads within Ward 2 with the following exceptions:
- Casey Road from Highway 37 easterly to Forsythe Road
- Putman Road and part of the unopened road allowance between Concession 2 and Concession 3 and extending easterly to the southwest limit of Lot #1, Registered Plan Number 53 and shall include Part 5, Plan Number 21R-15284 and Part 1,2,3,4 and 5, Plan Number 21R-16211
- Millennium Drive
- Blessington Road from Highway 37, easterly 800 metres
- Mineral Road
- Parks Drive
- Maitland Drive from Highway 62 easterly to Cannifton Road North
- Tank Farm Road
- Cannifton Road North from River Road easterly to Highway 37
- River Road from Cannifton Road North to former Corby Distilleries’ main plant entrance
- Ashley Street in the Hamlet of Foxboro.
Signage will be posted throughout the city indicating these restrictions. The cooperation and understanding of motorists is appreciated.
