As predicted it was a nasty evening and early morning of weather.
Snow, ice pellets, and freezing rain fell over much of the region, while further north it was just snow.
More precipitation is expected throughout the morning.
Multiple collisions were reported overnight, with a major traffic headache reported in Port Hope.
The eastbound Hwy 401 lanes are closed after a collision between two big rigs.
We’re also being told of a jack-knifed tractor-trailer on the west lanes of the 401, just east of the Brighton exit at County Road 30.
Tri-Board Transportation has cancelled all buses today but schools remain open.
All Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board schools are closed today, including those in Quinte West and Northumberland County.
