Two people have been arrested in an investigation into drug trafficking in the Quinte West area.
Members of the OPP East Region CSCU, with the help of the East Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine Unit and Quinte West OPP officers, executed a search warrant on Nash Road in Courtice on Wednesday.
Two people were arrested at the scene. Officers seized over $20,000 in cash, a cash counter, cellular phones and other items typically associated with drug trafficking.
Thirty-year-old Daniel Lewis of Courtice has been charged with:
- Traffick in Schedule I substance
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
Twenty-six-year-old Aalaa Abdelgadir has been charged with one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000.
Both accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 13, 2025.
