A nasty winter storm will hit the region Wednesday night.

Significant snowfall this evening into Thursday.
What: Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour. Poor visibility in heavy snow.
When: Beginning this evening and ending Thursday afternoon. The heaviest snow is expected to fall overnight into Thursday morning. Additional Information: Snow, at times heavy, will begin this evening. Total amounts of up to 25 cm are possible. This snowfall will impact the Thursday morning commute. Snow may become mixed with ice pellets early Thursday morning, especially for areas near Lake Ontario. Snow will gradually taper off Thursday afternoon. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
