The current boil water advisory remains for parts of Quinte West and will likely last into the weekend.
Director of Public Works and Acting CAO Chris Angelo it was accidentally caused by a contractor working in the area.

“Around 12:30 p.m., we had a contractor working in the area of the Trenton water treatment plant that accidentally struck a 400 millimetre diameter water main that is the main feed for the city.”
Angelo is hopeful the advisory can be lifted sometime tomorros.
It must remain in effect until at least 12 p.m. on Saturday according to public health requirements.

Affected Quinte West customers are in Trenton Ward, Murray Ward near Telephone Road, Walmart, Wellers Bay, the Young’s Cove subdivision, along with water users in Consecon and Carrying Place fed from the Trenton water system.
