Warden Bob Mullin started off Tuesday’s county council meeting with a special acknowledgement – the 175th anniversary of Hastings County.
The first meeting of Hastings County Council was held on January 28, 1850.
Warden Bob Mullin thanked all current and previous staff and council members for their dedication and sacrifice to make Hastings County what it is today.
Some commemorative artifacts were on display at council chambers on Tuesday including an original minute book from the mid-1800s.

And while it may not have been 175 years, a long-time employee was also recognized on Tuesday.
Jennifer Clazie was honoured for 25 years of service with Hastings County.
Clazie joined the county in 2001 as a tenant placement clerk and helped build the county’s housing program.
