A 50-year-old Newmarket man wanted on a warrant is facing another charge after an incident late Sunday night.
At approximately 11:50 p.m. on December 15, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the George Street and Parkhill Road area about a disturbance and a possible weapon.
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called in to search the building, but did not locate a weapon.
During the incident, officers located a man wanted on a warrant for assault with a weapon, assault with a weapon spousal, break and enter and failing to comply with probation.
As a result, a 50-year-old Newmarket man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with obstruct peace officer for failing to provide his proper name to officers.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, December 16, 2024.
