Belleville police responded to 77 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on December 9, 2024 to 5 a.m. on December 10, 2024.
Disturbance at business leads to arrest
On December 9, 2024 at 12:30 p.m., Belleville police responded to a disturbance at a retail store on Bell Blvd where a male was causing a disturbance with employees by screaming and challenging them to a fight. Upon their arrival, police located and arrested a 42-year-old male of no fixed address. Police further learned that the male was also currently bound by a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. As a result of the incident, the male was charged with causing a disturbance, resist arrest and fail to comply with a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.
Arrested on Warrant
On December 9, 2024 at 8:46 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a male on North Front St. who was currently wanted for failing to attend for fingerprints. As a result, officers arrested 31-year-old Christopher Town of no fixed address on the strength of the outstanding arrest warrant. Town was fingerprinted following his arrest and released on an undertaking with a court date in January.
