Two people in eastern Ontario have been arrested after they allegedly stole a statue from a local park and sold it for scrap.
The Gananoque Police Service says they received a report of a statue being stolen from Horticultural Society Park on October 31.
They say the statue was a tribute to a local artist and was valued at about $10,000, and an investigation found that it had allegedly been cut into pieces and sold for $126.
Police say a 52-year-old and 61-year-old have been arrested and charged with theft.
