Trent Hills celebrates the culmination of two decades of community effort Friday with the Grand Reveal Open House of the Sunny Life Recreation & Wellness Centre in Campbellford.
The 66,000 square foot facility, located at 50 Seymour Quarry Road, is a partnership between Trent Hills and YMCA Northumberland.

It features a full suite of YMCA amenities including a warming pool, four-lane 25-metre pool, a conditioning centre, male, female and universal changerooms, two studios and multi-purpose spaces.
There is also a municipally operated arena with an NHL-sized ice pad.

Trent Hills Mayor Bob Crate says, “The community expressed their interest in having a new recreation centre with an indoor pool almost 20 years ago, and that’s when the work started to make this day happen. Thank you to everyone who supported this project over the years. I am so pleased to extend a warm welcome to this amazing facility. I invite you to come and see all that it has to offer and enjoy the sense of community pride you feel when you walk through the doors.”

The event is free.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or unwrapped toy to the event to support the Trent Hills Fire Department’s food and toy drive.
