The Ontario Greens have already announced their candidate in the Bay of Quinte riding for the next provincial election.
Lori Borthwick was also the party’s candidate in the September by-election, finishing fourth behind winnner, Conservative Tyler Allsopp, Liberal Sean Kelly and the NDP’s Amanda Robertson.
Borthwick has called the Bay of Quinte home since 1989 and spent more than 30 years as a respiratory therapist at Belleville General Hospital.
“Lori is a community champion who has spent her career fighting for an Ontario that puts people before profits,” said Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner. “I know she will be a strong and outspoken voice for the people of Bay of Quinte at Queen’s Park.”
The NDP previously announced that Roberston would also represent her party again in the next provincial election.
The province’s next fixed election date isn’t until June 2026, but Premier Doug Ford has not ruled out calling one in 2025.
