Despite being down 3-0 at one point, the Belleville Senators were able to rally back and beat the Manitoba Moose 6-3 Friday night.
It is Belleville’s third straight victory.
The breakthrough for Belleville came in the second period when Xavier Bourgault scored the first goal of the game for the B-Sens.
From there, Belleville was able to score six unanswered goals to carry them to the victory.
Keean Washkurak was named first star of the game after tallying the game-winning goal and an assist.
“I was pretty proud of the group on the bench after we had a horrible first and horrible first five minutes of the second. They collected themselves. I was quiet, I didn’t say anything, I wanted to see who would pull our lot together, and we had some individuals on the bench who were really good. They went out and acted on it, and clawed themselves back into the game,” Head Coach David Bell said on the comeback win in a press release.
Goaltender Leevi Merilainen stopped 19 of 22 shots for Belleville to move his record to 6-1-2.
The B-Sens continue their road trip by once again taking on the Manitoba Moose Saturday night. Puck drop is at 6 p.m. EST.
