Eastside Secondary School track star Aiden Crawford has signed with NCAA Division 1 Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg Maryland.
Crawford, who is also a member of the Quinte Legion Lynx Track Club, has amassed dozens of medals for discus and javelin at the provincial and national level.
The 17-year-old becomes the first track athlete from the Bay of Quinte area to sign with a Division 1 school since Faye Roblin of Prince Edward County in 1983.
Head Coach Jim Stevenson, a former All American decathlete at Mount St Mary’s, is excited to land the 6’6”, 255 pound discus and javelin thrower from Belleville.
“We know he will be a great addition to our team and the sky is the limit with Crawford. We knew within the first hour of his recruiting trip in October he would fit in with our squad and we welcome Aidan to The Mount!”
