Belleville firefighters were on the scene of a house fire on Thurlow Queen Street in the hamlet of Plainfield Monday morning.
Crews responded around 9:30 a.m. and were quickly able to get the flames under control.
One occupant was treated at the scene by Hastings Quinte Paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Hoskin Road in the area of Thurlow Queen Street was closed as crews remained on scene for clean up.
Fire damage was contained to the basement with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.
There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
