Quinte West City Council approved a number of matters from the Active Transportation & Traffic Safety Advisory Committee at its meeting on Wednesday.
Among the matters were:
- Designating Hollen Street and Old Carrying Place Road as designated No Heavy Truck Routes,
- Adding Coleman Drive to the city’s Winter Sidewalk Maintenance Route,
- A traffic calming pilot project to install three speed humps and temporary flexible in-road posts on Couch Crescent for 2025,
- Install a three-way stop where Freedom Crescent meets the easterly connection at Lester Road and a 2025 traffic calming pilot project to install temporary in-road flexible posts (with speed limit displayed) as well as placing permanent centreline pavement markings and edge markings narrowing the travel width to 3.25m each.
- A 2025 traffic calming pilot project to install temporary in-road flexible posts (with speed limit displayed) and four speed humps with signage at Montrose Road.
The matters were approved altogether except for the three-way stop where Freedom Crescent meets the easterly connection at Lester Road.
Councillor Don Kuntze said he was not in favour of adding the stop sign at Lester Road and Freedom Crescent.
That matter, however, was approved separately.
