The Belleville Senators edged the Toronto Marlies 2 to 1 in a shootout on Saturday night, avenging Friday night’s 4-3 loss.
Jan Jenik and Matthew Highmore scored for the Senators.
The Senators opened scoring with an unanswered first period goal, leaving less than a minute on the clock before the second frame. Toronto would even the score in the second, leaving both teams neck in neck through the second, third, and then overtime before a shootout was called. Belleville found the back of the net in the shootout, and took the game.
The Senators face the Providence Bruins on Wednesday.
