A Belleville woman faces multiple charges as a result of two separate investigations.
Very early Monday, Belleville Police received report of a woman sending threatening messages to another female.
Officers attended the residence of the suspect where they found she’d pulled the building’s fire alarm, even though there was no fire, forcing multiple tenants out of the building in the middle of the night.
Police also learned that earlier in the evening, the female was locking doors to the building denying other residents from entering the building.
The woman was not arrested at the time but during the noon hour on Monday, police were dispatched to a Front Street business regarding a female who had broken into the building and was causing damage inside.
Police learned it was the same suspect from earlier and, as a result of both investigations, arrested and charged a 20-year-old Belleville woman with break and enter, three counts of mischief under $5000, criminal harassment, mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property and one count of falsely activating a fire alarm.
She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
