An inmate at Warkworth Institution has been charged after an assault took place the correctional facility.
On June 13, 2023, Northumberland OPP received a report of a correctional services officer being assaulted.
The incident was said to have taken place on June 5, 2023 and the officer was not injured.
After an investigation, a warrant was issued and an arrest was made on October 17, 2024.
A 37-year-old man from Bath, who was not identified by police, was charged with the following:
- Assault a Peace Officer
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
The accused was held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
