A shelter in place was enacted at Nicholson Catholic College Friday afternoon.
In a statement to Quinte News, the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board says the shelter in place was initiated by Belleville police at 1:01 p.m. due to a threat somewhere in the community not related to the school.
ALCDSB says it was not a lockdown, which is initiated if there is a threat within the school.
The shelter in place was lifted at 1:09 p.m.
The school board says all is well and that there was never a concern for students’ safety.
