Mikel Gould is no stranger to being a world champion.
The Prince Edward County native is a prominent arm wrestler
He won the world title in 1994 in the 100 kilo division in Sweden and again as a super heavyweight in 1999 in Japan.
Not only is Gould once again a world champion, he recently captured two titles.
Gould recently returned from the IFA World Championships in Greece, where he competed in the Men’s 105 Kilo Senior Grand Masters Division.
He would win the world title in both the left and right arm, however, he said going into it, he was not sure how he would fare.
“I just haven’t been as active. My work’s very demanding and different issues the last couple of years. I went to Greece with the intent, just see how it goes.”
He would face the same competitor in both the left and right arm championship.
“My final match was with a guy, James Fitzsimmons out of the United States. Left-handed we met and I didn’t have much trouble at all, but right-handed we had big matches.
Gould’s brother Joe finished 12th in the 95 Kilo division Left, while Mikel’s son Christien grabbed ninth place in 95 kilo Right.
Trenton’s Patrina Brooks won a gold and bronze at the same event in Greece.
