The East Northumberland SS cross-country team won the overall team title at the Bay of Quinte Championship, held at Dunnett Orchards in Brighton, on Wednesday. ENSS earned a total of 54 team points, ahead of second place Nicholson CC (22 points) and third place St. Therea’s (16 points). All ENSS runners contributed to the team championship.
Individually, Anastasiia Syrovatska was the junior girls champion and Jack Turner was the junior boy champion.
ENSS took first place in three out of six divisions – junior boys, senior girls, and senior boys. ENSS novice girls, novice boys, and junior girls were second.
In the junior boys division: Jack Turner (1), Dawson Dunham (2), Sullivan Tait (3), Ethan McDougall (7), Alex Botting (10), Eli Christian (13), Grayson Graham (18), and Noah Wambolt (19) won.
In the senior girls division, Cadence Tait (2), Cara Perrault (3), Kora Ferguson (4), Sophia Waite (9), Josalynn Scott (10), and Ella Singh (13) placed first.
The senior boys team consisting of Owen McDougall (2), Nate Boumhouwer (3), Chase Eddy (5), Ethan Miklos (9), Jacob Wambolt (13), Sunny Fanjoy (17), Ben Laird (18), Orion Kovacs (25), Michael Warner (28), Logan Rivard (29), Xander Danielsen (30), Jon Trescher (32), and Gavin Allen (41) also won.
The Blue Dragons head to Jackson Park in Peterborough next week (Oct. 23) for the COSSA championship.
