Two people from Trenton and one from Bancroft are among eight people charged in a Durham Region drug investigation.
The Durham Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit concluded a drug trafficking investigation on Friday by conducting multiple search warrants in Ajax.
With the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, warrants were carried out on a residence as well as multiple vehicles in the area of Delaney Drive And Westney Road North.
Seven adult males, and one male youth, were located in the residence and taken into custody without incident.
A search of the residence located two loaded handguns with an over-capacity magazine, extended magazine, and fully automatic selector switch, as well as two kilograms of cocaine, a quantity of fentanyl, and hydromorphone.
Twenty-eight-year-old John Junior Dasilva and 20-year-old Javaughn Dennis Dasilva, both from Trenton, along with 54-year-old Geeti Hussein Kahin of Bancroft each face three charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts each of possess loaded restricted/prohibited firearm and possess restricted/prohibited firearm as well as three counts of possess prohibited/restricted device.
John Dasilva is also charged with two counts of possess firearm contrary to order.
Javaughn Dasilva is further charged with fail to comply with probation order.
Four other males and a 14-year-old, all from the GTA face similar drug and weapons charges.
The adult males charged were held for a bail hearing while the teenager was released on an undertaking.
