Belleville City Council approved a recommendation to have two projects pre-approved for the 2025 Capital Budget on Tuesday.
These projects are Meyers Pier Remediation and Clifford Sonny Belch Park Phase 3 Development.
As part of the recommendation, the two projects will also be submitted for the Province of Ontario’s Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund.
The fund is broken down into two streams, repair and rehabilitation and new builds.
Meyers Pier Remediation would look for funding from Stream 1 while the Clifford Sonny Belch Park Phase 3 Development project would look for funding from Stream 2.
In a report from city staff, the hope is to receive $500,000 for each project.
