The Haliburton Huskies edged the Trenton Golden Hawks 5-4 on Saturday night.
David Fournier, Cooper Matthews, and Taeo Artichuk scored for the Golden Hawks.
Both teams were scoreless in the first period before the Huskies opened scoring in the second. While the Golden Hawks came back for two goals in the second, the Huskies took three, and a slim lead into the third. During the third the Huskies grabbed two more goals, and while the Golden Hawks rallied to get two more late goals, they couldn’t catch up and the Huskies took the win.
The Golden Hawks will return to the Dunc on Friday to host the St. Michaels Buzzers.
