It was a busy day for the Belleville office of Family Dental Centre on Saturday.
It was Free Dental Day, with over 100 services done including fillings, extractions and cleanings.
Speaking with Quinte News on Saturday, Dr. Yaz with the Dental Centre says access to affordable dental care is a big issue locally.
“The cost of living, everyone knows it’s an issue these days. So extra things like dental care, it’s way low on the list,” Dr. Yaz tells Quinte News.
“So if we can do anything to help people out, this is what we’re here for today.”
Dr. Yaz says she’s happy to give back to the community.
“We just feel so happy to be here. We wish we could do it more than once a year. Maybe that’ll be the goal for the future. But we’re so happy to see people smiling.,” she said.
Services done during the day, for those without dental insurance, was about $30,000 in value.
