Belleville Police Service is recognizing the contributions of a pair of their members, both past and present, with plaques mounted in the Belleville police station.
Former Police Chief Mike Callaghan was honoured with a plaque highlighting his eight-year service as chief, mounted in the lobby of the police station.
During Thursday’s unveiling ceremony, the retired Chief Callaghan said the best part of his career was serving in Belleville.
“I could not have accomplished, or we collectively could not have accomplished what we did, without having such an amazing team,” said Callaghan. “I’m going to tell you, in my 39 years, I have never worked with such a cohesive team in my entire life. That doesn’t happen very often.”
In addition, current police chaplain Brad Beale was recognized for his service supporting the health and especially mental health of the officers on the force, with a plaque and room dedicated in his honor.
