The Quinte Red Devil graduate has been named captain of the OHL’s Oshawa Generals.
Danford, an 18-year-old defenceman enters his third season with Oshawa.
He was a first round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in June following the Generals’ run to the OHL championship before losing out to the Saginaw Spirit.
Danford suffered a concussion at the Leafs rookie camp and missed Toronto’s camp while he recovered.
The Generals aren’t the first team Danford has captained.
He wore the “C” with the Under 16 Quinte Red Devils in his OHL draft year.
