The Belleville Senators have opened their eighth American Hockey League training camp at the CAA Arena.
Most of the 27 players have been at the Ottawa Senators camp and there are still a few still with the parent NHL team that could find their way back to Belleville.
The current roster includes two goaltenders, eight defencemen and 17 forwards. Thirteen have previously played at least one game with Belleville while nine others are vying for a shot to make their AHL debut.
The B-Sens will host the Laval Rocket for a pre-season game Friday night and the Toronto Marlies Sunday afternoon at 3.
They open the AHL’s regular season in Rochester on October 11. The home opener is Saturday October 19 against Utica.
