Belleville City Council approved a funding agreement that helps with the expansion of the Belleville Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic.
The clinic recently made upgrades to its HVAC system as well as plumbing upgrades in order to help accommodate 2.6 new nurse practitioners to the area.
Funding comes from the city’s Elexicon Dividend Reserve Fund as per an approval of a recommendation to council in 2023.
Council committed to a maximum of $30,000 in funding for the clinic at that time.
Renovations are now complete at the clinic, with the city stating in a report that the clinic requested to be reimbursed.
The costs did not exceed the originally approved $30,000 limit and that amount had been previously budgeted.
