The Burlington Cougars slipped past the Wellington Dukes on Friday winning the game 6-5.
Jared McNeil, Ryan Schaap, and Ethan Murray scored for the Dukes.
Both teams played to a deadlocked first period. The Dukes opened scoring just before the 10 minute mark, but the Cougars tied the game within two minutes. The Cougars ran wild in the second period, taking five unanswered goals and building a strong lead, before the Dukes surged in the third period, grabbing four unanswered goals of their own but just couldn’t quite catch up, leaving the Cougars with the win.
The Dukes are back in action on Saturday night, facing the Oakville Blades.
