Three people from Quinte West have been charged in a drug trafficking investigation.
Quinte West OPP began the investigation earlier this summer and on Thursday executed a warrant on Scott Street in the City of Quinte West with the assistance of the OPP’s East Region Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit.
Items seized included over 140 grams of cocaine and about 130 pills – including Oxycocet, morphine, hydromorphone and Lorazepam.
Police were also able to seize cash and three weapons including a shotgun, a replica handgun and a crossbow.
Drug paraphernalia and ammunition were also seized as part of the investigation.
Thirty-five-year-old Frederick Taylor of Quinte West has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – two counts
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid – five counts
- Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused was held for bail and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
Thirty-six-year-old Jessica Sagriff and 35-year-old Miranda-Lin Viau, both of Quinte West, have each been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-Opioid – five counts
- Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
The two accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville at a later date.
