The Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks padded their early season stats with blowout victories in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. In Wellington the Dukes jumped out to an early lead then crowned the Royals from Markham 8-1.
Cory Jewitt scored twice with an assist. Zach Carrier added a goal and two assists and Jack Lisson stopped 34 shots.
Also scoring for Wellington were Colin Smith, Ben Vreugdenhill, Zander Latreille, Riley Noble and Sasha Trudel.
The Dukes are on the road to Oakville Thursday night.
The Trenton Golden Hawks improved to 4-0 following an 8-2 thrashing of the North York Rangers.
David Fournier and Dalton Kane scored twice with an assist while Taeo Artichuk and Corbin Roach added three assists.
Adding to Trenton’s totals were Joey Brehmer, Matthew Souliere, Spencer Hughes and Candon O’Neill.
Trenton hosts North York on Friday night.
