The swearing in ceremony for the new Chief and Deputy Chief of Police in Belleville is set to take place Monday.
Police Chief Murray Rodd and Deputy Chief Sheri Meeks will be sworn in at a ceremony at the Quinte Courthouse Monday afternoon.
Rodd takes over for Acting Chief Chris Barry who will be retiring effective October 7.
Rodd served a 35-year career with Peterborough Police Service, including a decade as the Chief of Police.
Meantime, Sheri Meeks has spent 28 years with Belleville Police in a variety of assignments at every level of the organization, including Acting Deputy Chief.
Their new roles with Belleville Police will officially begin on September 16.
