Looking to identify
Police are looking to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect who assaulted a resident in the area of busy downtown intersection on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Around 8 p.m., a city resident walking home from work was passing the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Pinnacle Street when an unknown male approached. The male suspect, described as ‘scruffy looking’ was wearing dark-coloured clothing, a backpack and talking to himself. The suspect began making obscene accusations before threatening and assaulting the resident in the intersection. Following the assault, the suspect took off on foot. Belleville police are looking to the public for any information regarding the identity of the suspect or potential video footage, such as from dashcams from passing vehicles. Breach of release order
A report of a missing person ended with a Trenton woman being placed under arrest for breaching bail conditions on September 12, 2024 in the evening. Shortly before 9 p.m., police were dispatched to a home on Hickory Grove for a call reporting a missing female. The 26-year-old was on specific conditions related to a recent release order issued by the courts and hadn’t been seen for days. A short time after receiving the call, the female returned to the residence where she was arrested by officers. The woman was held for a bail hearing Friday at Belleville court on a charge of breaching bail conditions.
