As hoped for, the recently opened ambulance base in Stirling has had a positive effect on paramedic response times.
In a report to the Hastings-Quinte Emergency Services Committee, Chief Carl Bowker said that in July response times from the Stirling base averaged 13 minutes and 24 seconds per call.
In July of last year, response times in the Stirling-Rawdon/Centre Hastings area were 19 minutes and 19 seconds.
And just recently, a new ambulance base opened on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory which is also expected to improve service.
