With Tyler Allsopp running for the Progressive Conservative Party in the Bay of Quinte by-election, Belleville City Council approved a resolution to appoint a new member to the Belleville Police Services Board.
Council approved appointing Councillor Barbara Enright-Miller to the board, and removing Allsopp.
In the recommendation, it states that the change would be made to “ensure the continuity of decision-making for the Police Service at the board level.”
The next meeting of the Police Services Board is on September 19, the same day as the Bay of Quinte by-election.
Allsopp served as the chair of the Police Services Board.
