UPDATE: All lanes of Highway 401 in both directions are open as of 3:35 p.m.
A collision and subsequent tractor trailer fire has closed Highway 401, both east and westbound, between Belleville and Shannonville.
The collision occurred around 4:30 a.m. Thursday in the area of Mitchell Road.
Belleville firefighters are dealing with the truck fire.
There have been no reports of injury and it was not carrying hazardous cargo.
The highway is expected to be closed for some time eastbound, with westbound traffic to open during the morning commute
Traffic is being detoured.
