Days after the conclusion of the 201st edition of the Quinte Exhibition, the City of Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee approved a recommendation on a zoning by-law amendment to facilitate the development of the new Belleville Fairgrounds.
The recommendation calls for the subject land at Highway 37 and Black Diamond Road to be rezoned from Development Control Zone to Community Facility Zone, Service Industrial Zone, and Environmental Protection Zone.
In addition to the new fairgrounds, the development calls for a light industrial park and stormwater management facility.
Belleville City Council will make a final decision on the recommendation at a future council meeting.
