United Way Hastings and Prince Edward is gearing up for what it expects to be its most challenging fundraising year ever by going with a young up-and-coming entrepreneur as its Campaign Chair.
Taylor Russett, the 24-year-old owner of Lafferty’s Menswear in downtown Belleville and the Grind and Vine Coffee Shop in downtown Trenton, will be the youngest Campaign Chair ever chosen by the United Way.
Brandi Hodge, United Way Executive Director, says Russett’s ability to engage with a wide range of people, from young professionals to older community members, will create a campaign that’s inclusive and gets younger people more involved.
An official campaign launch is to be announced soon.
Last year’s campaign raised just over $2.2 million under the leadership of Chair Dan McCullough.
