Central Hastings OPP says a child has died after being struck by a vehicle in Tweed.
Police, as well as Tweed firefighters and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics, were called to Jamieson Street West just after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
An off-duty nurse and others attempted life-saving measures, but the six-year-old girl was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
The name of the victim is not being released.
Both the vehicle and the driver remained on the scene.
An investigation is ongoing involving members of the Central Hastings OPP Detachment and Crime Unit, an OPP Collision Reconstructionist, Technical Collision Investigators and the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
