Charges have been laid on an inmate following a reported assault at Bath Institution.
On May 30, 2024, Correctional Service of Canada contacted the Penitentiary Squad after an inmate reported being sexually assaulted the night before.
As a result of an investigation, members of the OPP-led Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad arrested and charged 52-year-old Kirk Williams on August 12, 2024.
The following charges were laid under the Criminal Code:
- Sexual assault
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Assault
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
The accused remains in the custody of the Correctional Service of Canada and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on September 19, 2024.
