The Progressive Conservative Candidate for the Bay of Quinte riding held his office opening Saturday, along with family, friends, and supporters.
Tyler Allsopp cut the ribbon at 113 Station Street in Belleville with dozens of onlookers on hand to hear their candidate speak on the issues in facing voters.
It appears the phrase “get it done” is the slogan for the campaign as several people were wearing shirts with the saying.
Allsopp says he and his campaign team have already knocked on more than 1,000 doors and they are hearing the same issues across the Bay of Quinte riding.
“We’re talking about housing affordability, we’re talking about homelessness, we’re talking about general affordability, people being able to buy groceries and put gas in their cars. Those are the things that are touching home with most people.”
He adds that health care and education are at the forefront.
“The Ford government has been doing a great job getting it done the last six years here in Ontario. Todd Smith has done a great job over the last 13 years in Bay of Quinte. I’m hoping to get in, continue that momentum, keep bringing investments to our community, and keep getting it done here in Bay of Quinte.”

He tells Quinte News they have been able to hit doors in Prince Edward County, Quinte West, and Belleville and the same concerns and issues are being expressed.
“Pretty good sense of how people are feeling. Response at the doors has been really great, people are excited to see us, excited about the Ontario PC Party, and the job that Doug Ford has done. Excited to have some strong young leadership here in the community as well. “
He says his daughters Olivia, and twins Riley and Everly, along with his wife Jennifer, are his main inspiration for running for provincial office.
“Three young kids, twin three-year-olds and a four-and-a-half-year-old as well, and actually they are the background on my phone. Every time I look at my phone, answer a text, answer an email, I’m thinking of those girls, and I’m doing it for them and for everyone’s families. This is a really hard time economically to raise a family, and the Ford government has done a great job at keeping things affordable, but there’s more to do and we’re up to the task and we’re going to get it done.”
