Northumberland OPP seized several weapons when police responded to a disturbance Wednesday night in Trent Hills.
Officers were dispatched to the area of 1st Line East where it was reported an individual was in possession of a weapon, and there were safety concerns for another individual at the residence.
Police arrived and confirmed the safety of the other individual.
The OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) were called in to contain the area.
Just after 2 a.m. Thursday, the individual was located at a separate address in the area and taken into custody without incident.
Police say there was no threat to public safety.
As a result of the investigation handguns, rifles, a shotgun and ammunition were seized.
The accused, who has not been identified has been charged with Pointing a firearm, Careless use of firearm and Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
The accused was held for a bail hearing in Cobourg.
