A driver in Quinte West is facing a litany of charges after attempting to flee from a traffic stop.
Quinte West OPP officers were working on speed enforcement on Wednesday night on Dundas Street East in Quinte West when they saw a vehicle speeding through the area, and confirmed, by use of a speed-reading device, that the driver was speeding.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the driver did not stop for officers. The driver was arrested a short time later.
Mark Moon, age 27 from Quinte West, was charged with:
- Adult flight from police officer
- Obstruct peace officer
- Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice
- Adult driving while under suspension
- Adult speeding 1-49 Km/hr over posted limit
The accused was released with an appearance scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
