Local politicians and municipal staff will be among more than 2,500 participants at next week’s Association of Municipalities of Ontario’s (AMO) 2024 Conference.
Quinte West will be sending a delegation including Mayor Jim Harrison, members of council and senior city staff to the event being held August 18 to 21 in Ottawa.

Quinte West Council members and staff will also meet with provincial ministries to discuss specific issues of significance in Quinte West, including:
– Funding for water and wastewater infrastructure projects including the west-end trunk sewer main and the Trenton wastewater plant expansion with Ministry of Infrastructure Parliamentary Assistant Amarjot Sandhu.
– Ongoing impacts to the city and the need for a long-term solution to lost revenue resulting from changes to the province’s Payments in Lieu of Taxes with the Ministry of Finance and Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy.
